The ‘Red Ribbon Express’ AIDS/HIV awareness campaign train
will arrive Balangir Railway Station on coming 25th June. It will
remain here for seven days.
Red Ribbon Express
is an AIDS/HIV awareness campaign train by the Indian Railways. The motto of
the Express train is “Embarking on the journey of life”. It seeks to spread
awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote safe sex and propagates to reduce
discrimination against AIDS victims in India, especially those in the rural areas.
The district administration is all set to conduct a campaign
against AIDS/HIV in front of Balangir Railway Station on Monday. The inaugural function
is scheduled to take place at 8.30 A.M. in the morning followed by an
exhibition which will be open from 10.30 A.M. till 5. 00 P.M.
While Balangir M.P. Kalikesh Narayan Singdeo will be the chief
Guest in the function, Balangir M.L.A. Ananga Udaya Singdeo, Municipality Chairperson
Damayanti Bag, Additional Project Director to OSACS, Bhubaneshwar Dr. Prabhakar
Hota and Balangir Superintendent of Police R.Prakash will be the honorable
guests.
